DITZA GROSS, PhD
Served as Director of Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv, Israel for many years. Dr. Gross is an expert in the respiratory care of people with ALS and neuromuscular diseases and patients using breathing support. She has also served as Pamela Cazzolli’s mentor for more than 20 years.
Dr. Gross spearheaded an International Home Mechanical Ventilation Conference in 2000 and 2008 in Israel. Through the years, she has visited Cazzolli in Canton, Ohio several times. Dr. Gross is now serving in private practice as a respiratory care consultant.
JOSHUA BENDITT, MD
Dr. Benditt completed medical school at the University of Washington is Seattle, Washington and went on to his internal medicine residency and fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. He served on the faculty at Brown University before coming back to Seattle where he is now Professor of Medicine. Dr. Benditt’s major interests include respiratory muscle function and noninvasive ventilation in the care of patients with neuromuscular respiratory failure including those with ALS, muscular dystrophy and spinal cord injury. He is the Medical Director of Respiratory Care Services as well as Medical Director for the Northwest Assisted Breathing Center at the University of Washington Medical Center. He currently follows over 300 patients with a variety of neuromuscular diseases. When not at the hospital Dr. Benditt enjoys making pottery in his home studio in Seattle.
JOHN R. BACH, MD
Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Vice-Chairman of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Professor of Neurosciences, Director of Research and Associate Medical Director of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Co-Director of the MDA Clinic at University Hospital, and Medical Director of the Center for Noninvasive Mechanical Ventilation Alternatives and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Dr. Bach is internationally recognized for his ground-breaking work in noninvasive mechanical ventilation. He has been listed in several physician-selected consumer guides to outstanding physicians, including the "Best Doctors in America" by Castle, Connelly and New York Magazine's "Best Doctors in New York".
The author of over 250 publications, including seven books on neuromuscular pulmonary rehabilitation and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, Dr. Bach has been invited to lecture on these topics in over 30 countries.
Dr. Bach is a fellow of the Association of Academic Physiatrists, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He received his medical degree from the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1976 and completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York University.
